Once upon a time in 2002 a family came to CTDR and asked us to take 2 beautiful 2-year-old red male doxies. They were littermates. The family was no longer able to care for them. As most young, healthy, beautiful dogs do, these 2 found a home together in no time at all. Over the next 7 years, their family would slowly begin going their separate ways. And now Frankey and Augie, through no fault of their own, find themselves back at CTDR looking for that forever home. 
Unfortunately, they are no longer young dogs. Their beautiful red coats have begun to turn white. Now they face the probability that they will have to go to separate foster homes and live out their lives without each other. Are you the special family that can make things right for these 2 handsome boys?
UPDATE
I am a sweet, loving boy to my people. My goal each day is to ensure you are snuggly warm when you go to sleep each night! I like to follow my person around and "talk" to them. I want to be sure you enjoy a lively conversation and don't feel lonely! I also have a funny prance that my foster mom calls "comical" and it makes her laugh when I run around.
My perfect home would be a place with no small children or cats. I tend to get overly excited around that type of energy. I'd make a great friend to someone who can shower me with love, guidance and attention. Do you have a home that fits that bill? If you do, I'd love to meet you soon!
UPDATE
Augie is a sweet little man, no doubt about it. He follows every step his foster parents take and is enjoying sleeping in the big bed with them!
For the most part, he’s house trained. He knows to scratch on the door to be let out. Augie is all dachshund and loves food. He's tenacious about trying to get any extra bits he can!
Augie loves to lay on the patio in the sunshine and he gives the squirrels in the trees unmitigated grief! He also is prone to rolling on his back in the grass for a good 5-6 minutes! He loves to walk on a leash & knows exactly what a leash is.
