If Cinderella were a dog, than Dottie Mae would be her name! Once upon a time, Dottie Mae lived in a house and enjoyed a comfortable life. Then came a hurricane that blew her house down! She and her family scurried to find safe ground and wound up in Texas. Unfortunately, the safe ground they found, didn't allow for pets. Poor Dottie Mae ended up at the shelter, with no safe home for her! She was terrified and lonely, just shivering in a cage.
CTDR stepped in and a foster home was quickly found! Once out of confinement, Dottie Mae regained her former self and put on the glass slipper! She is cuddling safely now with a blanket, inside a safe warm house. She shows her appreciation so clearly!
Dottie Mae gets along well with other pets and uses a dog door to do her business. She is spayed and Heartworm negative. Dottie is ready for a new home, far from the storms and chaos of her former life. This gal deserves some comfort and security after all she has been through and will be patiently waiting for her Cinderella dream to come true! If you believe in fairy tales and happy endings, this is your chance to make one come true! Dottie Mae is waiting for her Prince Charming... could that savior be you?
UPDATE
I am a quiet little lady with great manners. People are my favorite thing, but I also don't mind being around a dog or two. When you come over to me, I will flop over and show you my belly in hopes that you intended to give it a nice petting! I'm really smart and learned to use the doggie door very fast, and have no problems with my house manners. I rest quietly in my kennel and enjoy meeting new friends. When you are ready to spend time with me, I would love to snuggle up to you. If you are busy, I will patiently wait.

I am already spayed and housebroken, so all I need now is my forever home! I know when you find me, I will blend right in and you will feel as if I've always been there. Until then, I will patiently wait for you!
UPDATE
Dottie Mae has had quite a history - she survived Katrina, was adopted out after that, then dumped at a kill shelter when her family moved. She was saved once again, this time by CTDR from the kill shelter. Now she went down in her back, so she has gone through successful back surgery.
UPDATE
We are proud to announce that Dottie Mae is once again whole, happy and healthy! This wonderful girl has sure had a whirlwind of a life and is finally enjoying the fruits of all her effort! Dottie Mae is walking great and quickly regaining her strength and balance. She enjoys the company of other dogs, taking leisurely walks and snuggling up to people for love. She enjoys a nice belly rub and will roll on to her back in hopes you might have a minute to accommodate her favorite pastime!
Dottie Mae can be a bit shy around new people, but once she gets to know you - she will love you for life! Sweet as sugar and pretty as a rose, this little girl steals hearts everywhere she goes! She is still waiting patiently for her fairy tale ending and hoping her Prince Charming is on his way soon! Dottie is ready to close one chapter, and open the next. She hopes this chapter will be titled "My Forever Home With You!"
