Recently, I was wandering the streets, utterly lost on a cold winter day. I have severely dry eyes and need medicine twice a day just to keep them from crusting closed. I guess I'm lucky to have been found and maybe have a chance at living a good life again. Being an older girl, I find it very confusing to feel so lost. I'm not sure what I did to deserve this in my golden years.

I am a sweet, calm lady who just wants a warm place to settle down and enjoy a rest. I will even let out gentle whimpers when I need to go outside. When you show me love, I will gently kiss your hand and gaze at you lovingly through my terribly irritated eyes. I'm glad I have been found and hopeful to have a chance for the future I hope is waiting for me. I only wish I could I talk in a language that people understand. If I could, I would tell you that I don't deserve to be lost in this world and am longing to be found by someone like you!

UPDATE

I'm in a foster home now, and slowly learning my way around a new house and yard. It is difficult for me to see, so I'm glad to have help navigating this new place and getting some love and attention. Sometimes, an unexpected movement can startle me, so I would benefit from a home where things are consistent and calm. For this reason, I would also do best in a home with older children, or children who are accustomed to living with a senior like me. I am very sweet with people who are kind and loving to me.

Other dogs don't bother me and my laid back style would likely be ok around cats as well. I enjoy following my foster mom around the house, and napping on a blanket near my foster dad's feet.

I'm very hopeful that I will find my forever home soon. That way, I'll never feel lost again!

UPDATE

With the help of my wonderful foster mom, I am learning to love and trust. I gave her my first kisses just the other day! I love to lie next to her and get pet and loved on. My house manners are good if you help me remember where you want me to go. I'm very good about doing this whenever you take me outside, but I'm not sure yet how to tell you when it is time for me to go.

My eyes are improving quickly with the right medications. I do need to have them rinsed twice each day and medicine applied. I take this very well and know it makes me feel better. Even with this, I seem to be able to find my way around pretty well on my own.

I'd make a great friend for someone looking for devotion, love and cuddles. I'm content to spend my time just enjoying the company of a person who cares. Its hard to find yourself starting all over at my age! I hope there is someone out there who will give me a chance to prove that senior dogs make the best friends a person could hope to have!

UPDATE

Unfortunately I went down and had to have back surgery! I am recovering well. Won't you please donate to help cover the cost of my surgery?
