Ares:  Adoption pending

I am a shy boy when you first meet me. But, if you give me a chance I will gladly snuggle up to you and give you a hug. I have the most unique color of fur and my eyes just plead for someone to love. I will go to a foster home soon and am anxious to settle in and let my real personality become known.

When I came to the rescue, I needed serious attention to my teeth. But since then I have had them cleaned, been neutered and had my microchip placed. All I need now is to find the perfect family that will love me forever! I know that I have a lot of love to share in return!

UPDATE

I'm in my foster home now and things are going great! I'm learning how to play with toys, walk on a leash and I really love to play with the other dogs here. My foster mom took me to the groomer and I feel so fresh and handsome. I'm a beautiful boy, inside and out!

My sweet, playful and curious personality would make me a great friend to have around. Making friends with other dogs and people comes naturally to me. I haven't been around a cat yet, so I'm not sure how I would react to one of those fuzzy creatures. We've been working on my house manners and I'm doing well learning where to do my business. I can still be a bit shy, so I would need a home that helps me realize that the world can be a safe place to live.

Even after all the changes I've been through, my favorite pastime is snuggling with a person. I just melt when I'm loved and soak up all the gentle attention I can get. They tell me I'm a rare and unique type of dachshund, but I don't really care about that. All I want is to be special to one loving person. I'm hoping that person will be you!

UPDATE

Now that I'm getting great food and lots of love, I'm really starting to shine! My inside beauty is now showing on the outside too! I love to take a long walk and do very well on leash. Exploring freely in the yard is also a favorite thing for me to do! I'm even developing an appreciation for t.v. watching time and I just love cuddling on my foster mom's lap. She likes to watch American Idol. When I hear that theme song, I know its time for snuggling!

Living with a family has turned out to be a really good deal! I only wish I had a true, forever family willing to share their laps and love with me. I'm a sweet snuggler and a great best friend. I'm just waiting for someone like you to take me home so I can share it all with you!
