About Zoey
Status: Adopted!
Species: Dog
General Color: Red
Current Size: 15.2 Pounds
Current Age: 8 Years 5 Months (best estimate)
Housetrained: Yes
Reaction to New People: Cautious
UPDATE:
Zoey's initial reaction to new people is generally barking and apprehension even on walks probably due to being abused in the past. Once she trusts you she will let you know by giving kisses, requesting belly rubs and snuggling up next to you. She loves to burrow into a blanket effectively enough you have to check to see if she's in there! Zoey loves chasing squirrels and patiently "lays in wait" for them. Zoey enjoys playing with her 3 year old foster brother and mostly ignores her cranky 13 year old foster brother. She does have some boundary issues with other dogs like lingering close by while they eat or go potty. She responds well to being corrected. At the dog park Zoey acts like a herder of all dogs chasing after them with gusto! Her foster parents have been using training treats if she gets to playing rough. She absolutely loves doggy daycare and is loved by the staff there. Unlike her foster brothers Zoey comes when called! They're pretty sure this is due to her being a dachshund mix as dachshunds are notorious for ignoring you. Zoey is still learning how to walk on a leash needing repeated reminders to heel. Zoey is crate trained sleeping soundly through the night burrowed into her crate blankies. She's a good eater and doesn't beg for food
