Jake was very afraid when I picked him up at the vet, but quiet and obedient.  When we got to the car he perked up and happily rode home.  He was very happy to see other dogs his size at home and immediately tried to play (my girls weren't interested).  We all went on a walk together and he settled right in. Jake loves to play with his toys and the other toys here, but mostly he wants to cuddle up next to the humans, unless another dog is interested in playing.  He respects the other dogs' distance and does not try to challenge them when they want to be closer to me.  He is affectionate and bonds quickly; he is obedient and comes when called.  Jake has also discovered the fun of running after squirrels but it looks more like he loves running next to the other dogs rather than chasing.  He has a bigger dog bark but is quiet most always (so far) unless the doorbell rings.  He stops barking when I tell him thanks for letting me know. Jake is a very sweet boy who would probably be very happy in a house with other playful dogs.  He also loves human laps, his squeaky toys and his blanket.  Treats are not that important to him, a belly scratch is better.
