UPDATE:
Pepper is such a sweet little peanut! She bonds easily with her humans and snuggles up when she is being carried (which she enjoys). She is getting more adventurous after a couple weeks of living the pampered life she deserves, and now is looking very lovely after a visit to the beauty salon. Pepper is more confident exploring the yard and on walks, and will sit down and bark once to summon her human when she is done. She wags her tail and play-jumps when she encounters her foster sisters, but they are grumpy old ladies who don't want to play.
Pepper's favorite things are 1. Sleeping in her comfy bed 2. Sleeping on or next to her human 3. Tummy scratches 4. Riding in her stroller for walks (even just walks around the house! She loves her stroller). 5. Chicken with her supper. She is an adorable little girl who is snuggly, but also a little independent, and easily pleased.
UPDATE: Pepper is such a sweet old lady. She loves to curl up in a ball in bed in her room and sleep most of the day. She is very affectionate and needs lots of attention and cuddles from her human friends. She however, is still very nervous and scared with her new surroundings and tends to cry and bark a lot in her kennel as well as outside as she still does not understand what is going on around her or where she is. She would definitely prefer a home where she has constant companionship and love as she does not seem to like being left alone
Let's all welcome Pepper into Rescue. She is a new arrival to CTDR as her owner passed away and the family could not keep her. The family reached out to CTDR to see if we had a place for her and of course we told them yes. Pepper is a beautiful gray longhaired dachshund and is a 14 year old senior lady. She has had her world turned upside down with the loss of her owner. Pepper came in pretty matted so she has had a haircut, a nice warm bath and has had all of her vaccines. She still has some vetting to go as she appears to have eye issues that may or may not be related to cataracts. This little girl will need a foster home to go to along with finding a forever home to spend the rest of her golden years. If interested in Pepper, please complete an app;ication at www.ctdr.org.
