Heartworm prevention is given on the 30th of each month

Ollie is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever come across in rescue.  He has an absolute heart of gold.  However, his previous owners didn't realize or didn't care how sensitive and trusting his nature is and they corrected him way too hard.  Although in his heart Ollie wants to trust people not to hurt him, it is slightly difficult for him as it appears his trust has been betrayed too often.  So long as you are gentle with Ollie and speak to him softly, his true personality bursts forth in an exhibition of playful, joyful, puppy-ness, and in a short time you will become his best friend.  Ollie has suffered a pretty severe burn over about a third of his back, but is healing nicely and the hair is starting to return.  We put ointment on it every day so his skin with stay soft and soothed and will help the hair grow back.  Ollie is the most adorable blend of mostly a smooth-haired dachshund, but his mom and dad must have had some wire-haired genes because he has the cutest "mustache" and furry paws.  Ollie absolutely loves to play with other dogs and is constantly giving them a play bow to initiate fun, so I think he'd love to have a playmate.  There is not an aggressive molecule in Ollie's entire body.  He loves the dachshunds next door and their large Rhodesian Ridgeback, as well as our dachshunds.  We don't have cats, but since he is so non-aggressive I doubt he would hurt them.  I think really young children might be a little too active for Ollie until he completely learns to trust again, but I know he'd be gentle with them.  Ollie has not had a single "accident" in the house and he will give you a woof to let you know he needs to go outside.  He's slept quietly in his crate every night and does fine with being in a crate when we go away, but he will give you a woof, then a bark, if he needs to go outside before you leave the house.  So if you are willing to be patient and only correct Ollie gently, you will have the complete adoration of this amazing little dog.
