Sebastian is a charming, intelligent, self-assured young man.  In looks he resembles a very short Golden Retriever.  He learns quickly, having already mastered “sit/stay” for meals and treats, and is learning to “shake” (maybe).  He’s extremely curious about my 5-pound cat, but, then again, he may just think of her as an intriguing squeaky toy, so there have been no face-to-face encounters between them.  He loves playing with our Chihuahua and shows proper respect and deference to our aged Sheltie.  Because he’s an independent sort, however, Sebastian likes to run out any open door into the street, intending to lead us on a merry chase.  He is also smart enough to open gates that haven’t been properly latched, and find any chinks in a fence.  He’s always come back from these little forays, seemingly curious about why no humans joined him in running down the street.  He tolerates leashes well, but someone who can take him running might just be what he needs.  He’s a cuddler in bed and an alarm when someone knocks on the door.  He loves belly rubs.  He is a polite passenger on a car ride.
