If you need sweetness added to your life, Sugar will fit the bill. She is a red mini who is 2-3 years old and weighs in at 8 ½ pounds. She is the mother of Baby who is also available for adoption on our website. The two of them were rescued after the unexpected death of their owner.  Fortunately, someone cared enough to step in to help them find homes through CTDR. This individual went the extra step of having Sugar fully vetted before calling CTDR.  It reaffirms one’s faith in humanity that Sugar was spared a shelter placement. As mentioned above, Sugar’s name fits her very well. She is a love bug and likes nothing better than getting attention.  She is also very energetic and has abundant curiosity.  Her favorite activity of all is being close to you, especially at night when she claims her spot by your side. Sugar was likely an indoor dog.  She is very well-trained to use a pad.  She could be trained to go outside if given time and patience. She wants to please you and responds to praise (and treats). Sugar’s playmate of choice is her daughter, Baby.  The two of them run and play together from morning until night. This makes sense as the two of them have always been paired. It’s unsure if they are so accustomed to being together that separating them would be an issue.  Sugar does get along with other dogs in the foster home, so she would likely be fine, given an adjustment period.  And lots of attention, of course. The ideal home would be one that offers her plenty of opportunity to burn off some of her energy.  She has not been around children, but it’s not a stretch to imagine that she would enjoy having playmates. The key to making Sugar happy is to provide a home with energy to match hers and lots of love and attention. The love will definitely be reciprocated and then some.
