Bentley is an adult Standard Longhaired Dachshund. He weighs about 27lbs, but his best weight would be about 22lbs. He is on a diet and not real happy about it. He is a beautiful Black and Tan boy. He loves attention and exploring house and yard. He gets along well with his other foster siblings. CTDR is not sure of Bentleys complete background. It seems he was rescued and put in boarding last year and after a few weeks the boarding facility could not reach his rescue contact. It seems he was abandoned again at boarding. This facility continued to care for Bentley and could not bring themselves to surrender him to the city shelter. They believed he would not survive. You see, Bentley is “Blind”. There is no obvious cause like Glaucoma, cataracts  or trauma.   After a few more weeks of non contact from Bentley’s rescue CTDR was contacted. As is usual CTDR stepped up. Bentley was vetted and tested negative for heartworms. He is now living comfortably (Except for diet) in his foster home. But he would like his own “Forever Home”. Bentley is a low energy boy, who is happy being loved on by his people and  exploring his surrounding like most dachshunds. He does bump into things a little more often than others, but that does not slow him down any. Bentley has been good both in his kennel and about going outside to do his business.  I will describe Bentley as “Special Needs Dog” , but he really is not. If you are interested in a really good looking and loving companion please contact CTDR with any questions.
