Lola was found February 13, 2012, as a puppy, happily wandering the streets of Northeast Houston. I brought her home and she immediately started sleeping in the bed with me. She was perfect as an apartment dog and quickly became my best friend. She went everywhere with me. She loved walking, but was never a fan of dog parks. She is intimidated by other dogs and although she wants to play, it doesn’t take long for her to show fear aggression. I don’t know her history before my home, but she was a stray in an area that was home to many large “aggressive breed” strays. Lola is gluten sensitive, so she eats grain free food and treats. If she gets wheat or gluten in her diet she begins to scratch her belly and undercarriage until she bleeds. Lola has back trouble sometimes. We manage it by making sure she doesn’t go up and down a lot of stairs or jump off of high furniture. On two separate incidents she had to be medicated and rest her back. In April of 2018 my wife and I were blessed with triplet infants. We weren’t expecting so many babies but we figured 3 dogs and 3 babies- what could go wrong? well we quickly saw that once the babies were moving around, Lola and her back issues were not ready for triplets.
Lola would be happiest in a home with no other dogs or small children. She would do well with older children who understand to be gentle. She is a great best friend and companion.  She is accustomed to a life where she is the best friend and priority, and she deserves a life where she isn’t afraid all the new little people will stand or fall on her. Lola is still very active and playful and would love to live somewhere that she can be taken for walks. She loves to play with dog toys or play fetch. Lola is a loyal best friend and is very affectionate to her person
