Sawyer was given up by his long-time owners because their family situation had changed and they could no longer provide a home for him. CTDR rescued him from the North Texas area and transported them to Austin for veterinary care. He is ready for adoption and needs a loving, forever home.
Sawyer is a happy, congenial dog, much interested in his environment and the people around him. He GREATLY enjoys attention and affection and going for walks. He is an intelligent dog and will try to out think his parent when he wants something. He can be confrontive to new people, but eases up fairly quickly. He is crate-trained and his potty training is complete. He has mastered the doggie door and when in the room with access to it, he always uses it to go out to do his business. Sawyer is enamored with squeaky toys and playing fetch, of which he never tires. Sawyer is predominantly a black and tan but has out-croppings of silver dapple.
Although Sawyer was taken in by CTDR with his brother Levi, he is not bonded. He would do best in a single dog home where he can get the attention he craves.
