UPDATE:
It’s hard to imagine that she is 11 years old. She is very active and loves to run and play in the yard. She mastered the dog door within 10 minutes of arriving at our house and shortly thereafter mastered the doggie steps up to the couch. She loves to cuddle and will press her head into you for extra loving. She sleeps all night in the crate without a peep. She is patiently waiting in the morning for us to let her out. We have taken her on our nightly one mile walks a few times and she does great on the leash. She doesn’t pull but she keeps a good brisk pace and other dogs, people, cars etc. don’t take her attention. She has been great with neighbor kids of all ages and didn’t react when seeing a cat outside. We have noticed that she has a bit of separation anxiety. If I leave the house or even go into a room where she can’t follow she does this part howl, part whine, part scream over and over until she can see me again.
Look at this pretty senior lady who just joined the CTDR Rescue family. Chiquita was surrendered by her owners after the other dog in the home passed away and she was so lonely and the owners did not want to get a second dog. Chiquita is fully vetted and has settled down nicely in her foster home. She has mastered the doggie door and is getting long great with the other dogs in the foster home. If you would like to give this pretty lady a home where she can spend the rest of her golden years, please complete an application at ctdr.org.
