Meet Marcus. Marcus was left at the Dallas Shelter by his owner because he had a very large, ulcerated, tumor on his posterior. CTDR was contacted and quickly pulled him from the shelter and transported him to Austin for two life-saving surgeries. Those who have seen Marcus before and after the surgeries consider his recovery a miracle - there is NO sign of the former tumor and no issues with either movement or elimination. The name Marcus means warrior and this little guy has endured the pain of this tumor for quite some time and has been a little warrior throughout all of this.
In foster care, Marcus has been a sweet and loving dog. He integrated into the pack with no drama or issues. He is good with other dogs (big and little). He has been good and loving with people. He likes attention and likes exploring the house and yard. He is kennel trained and housebroken.
Marcus is a low to medium energy dachshund, who loves being on the couch or chair with his person. Marcus is not at all shy or scared, which is a little surprising considering all he has been through in the last months. In short Marcus would make a wonderful addition to almost any family.
Marcus' age is not clear; it has been pegged at five years and 13 years. Our best estimate is eight years and that is supported by his good teeth.
