Lil Bit will steal your heart if given a chance! He may not be a full blooded Dachshund but he has the heart of one. One of his favorite activities is having his belly rubbed. He will stay in your lap as long as you will scratch him. When you scratch just the right spot, he starts licking the air. Otherwise he will go and curl up under a thick blanket for a nap.

He doesn't like being in a crate but really doesn't need it. He is house trained; however, as he gets older, he sometimes can't quite make it outside. Taking him outside right before bedtime and putting the water bowl up seems to help.

He loves to eat and needs to lose a pound or two. Feeding him a low calorie or healthy weight dog food helps. He loves any type of treat including carrots, green beans and apples. You have to cut them up since he has lost most of his teeth over the years. He gets very excited when he sees you grab his leash. He loves to go for walks. He also loves to go for car rides. He gets so excited he whimpers but calms down once you get going. Occasionally he will play with a rope toy. He will do well with other dogs or by himself. He just wants someone to love him.
