Heartworm Prevention on the 6th of each month

Murphy is a beautiful little puppy soul!  He is so sweet and gentle and pretty calm for a puppy especially considering what he has been through.  He was found in a large shopping center parking lot, dodging cars. The Shopping Center is located right next to busy HWY I35!   Apparently someone had dumped him there! Animal Control was called and picked him up before he could be hit by a car. The shelter he was in, is kind of small and he did not receive much exposure to be adopted.  He was there for about a month until CTDR was called to come to his rescue!

 He is learning that he likes a soft bed to sleep in and a fluffy blanket to snuggle under.  He is quickly learning that his belly is for rubbing..and oh, he likes that!  Murphy is playing with the other dogs in the house and having a great time!  He is a little shy when meeting people, but if they get down on his level, and gently call him, he will come over for a belly rub! So far, he has not barked, but whined a little when left alone for the first time.  Poor guy was just scared, and quickly brightened up when someone joined him in the room! His behavior seems to indicate that he has been beaten and/or kicked sometime in his short lifetime! Murphy follows his foster Mom and the other dogs all around the house. He doesn't want to miss out on any adventure.  But he is a little timid of new things and will sit back and watch for a minute and if he feels safe, he joins right in! He has not been around children or cats, so not sure how he will react to him.

 He is solid black and wire haired, so appears a little scruffy!  His ears have very short hair on them and it appears they are trying to turn either a cream color or possibly grey.  But they are going to be a different color then his black body. He is being neutered this week and then will be ready for his new forever home!  A home far away from parking lots and Highways.  A home with a soft bed and a fluffy blanket, and a gentle hand to rub his tummy and to teach him that all humans are not horrible!

Murphy is a playful little guy, but really sweet.  He likes playing outside and inside with his toys.
He does well with cats and children. I think he would do well to have another dog to play with because he always want to play with the cat but the cat hisses and Murphy just goes away to his toys.
He's a small little guy and he loves to sit in your lap and relax with you.
