Heartworm Prevention is given on the 1st of each month

Howdy, Ya'll!  

I'm Daphne!  My friends call me Daph!  I sure hope we can be friends!  Mom sometimes laughs at me and calls me "Miss Thang" when I get in my playful mood 'cause I am sassy, and spunky and have great Doxie Attitude! Now that I have finished that horrible heartworm treatment and that long recovery period, I am ready to play and to find my Forever family and Forever home! I really love to play and to run and to snuggle and cuddle with Humans!  That is probably my most favorite thing,  to love and cuddle with someone! Oh, and I absolutely LOVE to Eat, but what respectable Doxie doesn't?  Mom says I am a kibble vacuum, cause I run around and vacuum up the kibble my brothers and sisters spilled! Hey, no sense in letting good kibble be wasted, right??  I kind of had a rough start to life.  My Doctor thinks I might have been born backwards and came out tail first but got stuck half way born. Then someone may have pulled me out by my tail. Because of that, I have some neurological problems with my back end.  I can walk great, but run kind of funny, and kind of bunny hop when I get going really fast! But I can flat out MOVE when I want to run!  I smoke the other dogs in the house and leave them in my dust! LOL  But I am a good girl and come back when Mom calls me home!  The nerve problem also affected my bladder and bowels.  I can't feel them, so really can't empty them by myself.  Mom has to help with that a couple times a day. But it only takes a minute, and is super easy! Mom says it sure is nice to not have to take me out in the rain and the cold or the extreme heat for me to do my business! I can even do my business in the human's toilet!  Isn't that cool? None of my brothers or sisters do that!  Everyone tells me I am beautiful, so it must be true!  I have a short red coat and my legs are little long.  My ears are kind of short and sort of stick out sideways! Mom says we have to be careful outside in case a stiff breeze picks me up and flies me away!  LOL  But I sure hope she is joking about that!  I have beautiful eyes that are light brown and almost a golden color! I am not a big barker, but will bark if someone comes to the door.  I sleep quietly in my crate all night long, buried underneath my blankies.  I prefer the big bed, but sometimes there is just no room, with all my family in the bed at the same time!  I get along with all the other pups here in the house and will play with some and Some I ignore!  But I really love to wrestle and play tug of war with my Mom!  My most favorite thing to do is to have snuggle cuddle time and to lie in Moms lap and just be loved on and give love back!  My main job in life is to give out kisses and I take my responsibility very seriously!  Everyday I must make sure everyone is thoroughly kissed!  It is very important to make sure everyone knows, everyday, that they are loved, and I do that by passing out kisses!  Now I am not the picky type, but my ideal home would be one where I am either the only dog or with maybe one or two other dogs.  I could live in an apartment or a house, that doesn't matter to me.  My family would need to understand that I am a special needs kind of lady and will need a little different, but easy care.  So my family would need to be able to spend 2-3 minutes, a few times a day, helping me take care of my needs.  A warm blankie to burrow into at night and maybe a few toys of my very own to play with, and I would be all set. Oh, one more thing...I need some humans to give kisses to and to let them know everyday that they are loved!  That is very Important!  Do you think you might have a little love to share back with me? I have to tell you that I am so very frightened with smoke.  No matter where the smoke comes from will make me go run and hide and not come out.  BBQ pits, cigarette smoke and fireplace smoke are the worst for me
