Heartworm prevention is given on the 27th of each month

Charlie 2 is an Awesome guy!  He is very quiet and calm and very respectful and holds his head and tail very high and erect. He walks around very dignified.  He reminds me of Royalty, so I have started calling him Sir Charlie!  He is a small standard in size and weighs about 18 pounds.  His coat is very long and very soft;  Black in color with lots of tan on his face, points and paws.  Sir Charlie has very expressive brown eyes that will follow you around the room.  When you talk to Sir Charlie, or look in his direction he will greet you with a tail wag!  He comes when called and knows basic good manners, such as Sit and stay.  He is fully house trained and non destructive.  He is quiet in a crate, but is so well behaved, he doesn't need a crate.  Sir Charlie walks great on a leash.  He does bark at other dogs, but is friendly when meeting them, and is friendly meeting people.  When you come home he greets you at the door with a wagging tail and smile on his face!

 

When he arrived in rescue a few days ago, he had a piece of a bone stuck in the roof of his mouth that appeared to have been there for some time.   It has now been removed, but his mouth is healing and still sore, so not sure if Sir Charlie likes to play with toys, or chase a ball or play tug of war.  Those activities will have to wait a few days until he is fully healed.  He loves to lay in your lap and just be petted or if you are busy on the computer, he will lay in your lap and sigh with contentment.  He is a real "people" kind of pup and just wants to be near his "people".  He loves attention, but is not an attention hound, and can entertain himself if you are busy.   He is a beta personality and can easily be pushed around by other dogs.  He is very quiet and attentive to his people and just wants to please and to be loved on.  Giving and receiving love and going for walks seem to make Sir Charlie extremely happy.

 

Sir Charlie has had a very tough year, and he is looking for his perfect forever home. A fairly quiet home, with someone to love on Charlie and give him the love and attention he deserves, to feed him a good quality food, to pet him, and comb his long coat,  to be open to receiving lots of love and attention from a very calm, very handsome, very intelligent little guy. He sleeps curled up in a little ball, so he doesn't need a huge space to sleep, just a soft warm place to lay his head, preferably on the big bed with his People, but he is ok in his own bed too.  He would love someone that has a nice lap for him to lay in and someone to take him for walks.  

 

Sir Charlie asks for so little in life and but is prepared to give his all to his People.  Do you have a little room in your heart for a big lover?
