UPDATE: 02-04-2013   Little Holly has come so far! After coming in as a stray to Austin Animal Center, she was pulled by CTDR and has been enjoying foster home life ever since. Holly came in to CTDR weighing 22 pounds--quite a bit for her little doxie legs--but has since lost SEVEN pounds, putting her at a svelte 15. As the pounds came off, her little personality really started to blossom! Her age is somewhat of a mystery, and if she is indeed eight, she hardly knows it. Holly and I go for little jogs and hit the hike and bike trail regularly, and she is always taking the lead and making ME keep up. She also LOVES playing fetch with her Kong or rubber chicken, and will play until she wears you out. Holly is really starting to understand potty training, and I think there was not much discipline on the matter in her last home. But with regular outings, the accidents have dramatically lessened and she is really starting to get it. Holly is not a terribly vocal dog, but she is my first line of defense against the vacuum cleaner, the hair dryer, and the dreaded popcorn machine. She has taken to crate training like a charm, and would perfectly content hanging out in her nook while you’re away. Although, of course, she would be much happier on the couch cuddling with you. At night, she burrows under the covers and sleeps right by my feet. Holly gets along with absolutely everyone as has not met a person she doesn’t like. She is the same way with dogs, and I think would be okay living in a house with big dogs, but might prefer to be the only small dog. She wants to be the only one in your lap! She does have a high prey drive, and I would not recommend her to a home with cats. She would probably be okay with children, provided they are respectful of her. Holly has mastered “sit”, and we are working on “down”. If you think your lap might need a steady resident, and if your vacuum cleaner is starting to get out of line and needs a good scolding, then you MUST meet Holly. She will absolutely steal your heart!

Introducing me, Holly! I just recently came to my foster mom's house. There is so much to discover and I am having so much fun! Apple and Clancy are here, too. I like them and we have fun playing in the back yard. I can play fetch with my foster mom for hours - I love that game! I have beautiful warm caramel brown eyes, with which I will gaze up at you lovingly and adoringly every minute that we get to be together.  I will also follow you everywhere you go, sitting and waiting patiently for the next time we can cuddle up on the couch. As you may have noticed, I'm a little overweight, but my foster mom has me on good reduced-fat kibble, and I love green beans! I'll have my weight down in no time! I've been a momma in the past. My foster mom calls me 'little momma.' She says I have a calming, momma influence on everyone I meet. Puppies are fun and all, but quality snuggle time and unquestioning adoration is spelled H-o-l-l-y!

Looking forward to meeting you at our next meet-n-greet!
