UPDATE on 01-11-2013 on Duey:

Duey is now in a foster home and is doing very well.  He is now eating dry food and seems to be really acting more "puppy like".  He is starting to fuss about wanting out of his xpen and when he hears the other dogs playing, he really gets excited.  He should be "released" in the next day or two to start playing with the other dogs in the foster home.  He has now had his first set of puppy shots and tolerated that very well.  His weight has gone up from 5.3 lbs. last week to 6.12 lbs. this week so he is a growing little boy.

UPDATE on DUEY:

Duey has improved a little more since this morning.  He was very lethargic and dehydrated this morning to the point of not even being able to stand on his own.  He is still on IV fluids and his glucose numbers and electrolytes are also improved.  He still has diarrhea but no vomiting this evening.  He did take some chicken from the vet tech a little while ago and has been able to keep that down.  He is looking peppier this evening.  He is now standing a little on his own and moving around in his kennel and is drinking on his own.  He is still in the Critical care unit because of the continual diarrhea and the severe dehydration. He will need to stay on the IV fluids and antibiotics.  After he is evaluated tomorrow, we will know a little more.

CTDR needs your help again for another Christmas miracle. Duey is a 5 month old, black/tan smooth male that was surrendered to CTDR by his owners because he developed parvo. Duey is in the Critical Care Unit of a veterinary specialty hospital fighting for his life. His previous owners waited until he was unable to even stand on his own before they brought him in for care; so the next 48 hours are critical for tiny Duey. The cost of critical care for Duey for just the next 2 days will be about $2200, so if anyone would like to help CTDR pay for Duey's fight for life, please go to his webpage on www.ctdr.org and click Sponsor This Pet under his picture. CTDR supporters helped give Pi a Christmas miracle of life, and we are hoping you all can do it again through prayer and positive thoughts for tiny Duey.
