Taylor is a great girl. Her first night took some getting used to and she didn't let me sleep all that much but the next night, I think she knew she was safe and she & I & my own doxie snuggled up all nice and tight in bed and slept all through the night.
She's pretty even-tempered. She does not seem to be a big barker.. She hasn't barked at other dogs that walk the trail behind my house and she hasn't barked at the doorbell. I took her out walking yesterday with a harness and I am pretty sure she's never experienced a harness. By the end of our walk (we walked a LONG way), she was used to it and also pretty tired.
Taylor, like many other doxies, loves to burrow in either her own blanket or under the covers in bed. She likes chew toys. She whines on occasion but not as much as the first night. She isn't fully house-trained yet but she is definitely getting better at it. In the meantime, she DOES use the training pads that I have out. She loves snuggling with humans but she will allow another doxie in and just go find another blanket to get into and go to sleep. She's not a dominate dog at all. Bottom line, Taylor is an awesome dog. Very mild-mannered, well-behaved, a TV-star (recently made an appearance on the YNN news), and all around sweet girl.
