Oreo is a sweet and loving, sensitive and timid, playful and curious boy. He LOVES to be close. Oreo likes to give kisses and when he can and occasionally he nibbles on your chin a little bit. It's super sweet and it tickles. You don't have to ask Oreo twice to come and snuggle, whether on the couch or in your lap, he'll come running and jump into place. He could easily be a professional lap dog. He has great eye contact and beautiful eyes. We think Oreo spent a lot of time alone in the backyard. He is still a bit hesitant to come in the house, specifically through the doorway. He's getting better every day, but it almost seems as if he got in trouble for coming inside. He is extra sensitive about coming inside. He hasn't spent much time alone since he's been with his foster family. He has two foster brothers that he is very sweet to, even though one of them sometimes get jealous and snappy. Oreo is definitely submissive and has learned to be cautious. Oreo would be a great dog to take to work if your work place allowed. He's THAT good and THAT easy to deal with. He appears to be a very smart dog that wants to please. While he hasn't been around children yet, we are confident that he can be trusted around all age of children with no problems. So far he loves all people and all dogs he meets. He is playful but cautious. He seems like the kind of dog that would be okay around cats even, but we haven't tested this out. Oreo is fully house trained. He isn't a yappy dog or much of a barker. He isn't hyper at all, but is kind of wiggly at times. He is long and strong. Oreo is still learning how to play. His foster brother tried and tried but Oreo didn't know how to do it. Finally he is starting to play a little bit. He seems new to toys as well. He really enjoys balls, squeakys and nyla chew bones, basically every toy is a chew toy for Oreo. He really likes to run after the tennis ball, and brings it back very nicely. Oreo is not food driven. He has a good appetite, but he's pretty mellow about eating. He also doesn't know that you should not go up to another dog and see what they are eating. He doesn't really understand those food boundaries. We have been feeding him in isolation so he doesn't get in a scuffle with his foster brothers. Oreo can jump. He was up on the coffee table on more than one occasion. He managed to snatch a sandwich from a plate off a coffee table when it was left unattended for a minute. Oreo has been to the dog park and likes other dogs. He doesn't look like he would run away, but we have kept him on the leash just in case. He is a fast runner so he would be really hard to catch if he did run away. I would give Oreo a 9.9 out of a 10 as far as being the perfect dog. He is a little goofy and needs training, but he is young and smart and eager to please so it shouldn't be a problem. He just needs to understand what he can jump up on, and what he can't. In other words, he just needs a few more manners. And if he didn't have any toys to chew on I can see him finding something around the house, like a flip flop to nibble on. But impossible to get mad at him because he doesn't know any better. I'm sure he was a little bored and curious.
