Eleanor was picked up as a stray and impounded into a kill shelter in East Texas. She was so emaciated that she was mistaken for a neglected senior dog instead of the lively 5 year old she has turned out to be. In addition to her malnourished state, her eyes were severely infected and crusted shut. When we went to pull her she was curled up in a ball shaking in the corner. As soon as her kennel door was opened she got up and walked straight to us wagging her tail. We don't know her history but this sweet girl did not receive the care she deserved. She is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be spayed in the near future. Despite the challenges she's faced, this girl has turned out to be lively, playful, and very sweet. Eleanor is housebroken, if let outside regularly, and is also crate trained. She loves any toy with a squeaker and has known to be a toy hoarder! She is very impatiently awaiting the completion of her heartworm treatment so that she can resume her favorite activity of playing fetch with a tennis ball! Eleanor has shown to be very protective of resources such as food and toys. She would do best as an only dog or with other dogs that are not resource motivated. She has been very receptive to all people and her favorite place to be is in your lap! Please consider giving this sweet baby the forever home she deserves!
