UPDATE:

Pebbles is a ray of sunshine and source of joy – and of course she is, she has angel wings!  The markings on Pebbles’ shoulders are in the shape of angel wings.  In general, she is the sweetest and most entertaining girl.  She plays with toys, tries to interact with my pups, and she LOVES people.   She bounces when she is happy or excited and it looks like she is trying to fly with those wings. We walk by the nearby grade school and the kids adore her, they love to see a dog in a stroller.  They run to pet her, and Pebbles bounces and tries to lick them all.  She does the same with everyone who comes near her on walks, and I haven't seen her be anything but happy to have anyone pet her.  She especially loves children and babies.  She is very interested in other dogs and wishes they would all let her sniff and say hello. On our daily walks, Pebbles rides along in her stroller, and nearly every day someone will pull over in their car or cross the street to tell me that seeing her bounce and be happy has made their day. When she came to CTDR, Pebbles was a quiet and mostly sad girl, she had been unable to use her legs at all for a while.  She was not a candidate for surgery, so we have been working hard with treatments and therapy to help her regain the use of her back legs.  It is slow going, even though her back legs have regained some muscle and reflexive movement.  She has a wheelchair and she is as happy as she can be, running with the other dogs in the yard and exploring every inch of the house. In the evening, her happy place is snuggled on the couch with us until it’s time for bed.  She is a good girl and is happy to stay in her comfy crate by the bed, and will sleep all night.  She puts her head down and closes her eyes when we say good night. She does not like thunder at all, but will put up with it if you reassure her and give her pets. In the car, Pebbles will she curl up and take a nap while we are driving until bouncing up when we pull into our destination.  She knows wherever we are going will be fun. Pebbles is a happy girl who makes others happy too.  She loves her humans, toys, and her foster sisters and is a great example of living the best life with what she is able to do.

Pebbles is a new arrival to CTDR.  Pebbles has gone down in her back legs and her owners could no longer care for her and CTDR was contacted.  We are honored to have been entrusted in the care for this precious girl and CTDR is committed to providing the very best of care for her.  The surgeons do not feel she is a candidate for surgery and feel she would do much better with the advanced rehab care, which she has already started.  Please check back on our website for further updates on this sweet girl.
