HI! My name is Tubby. I’m 4, and a very handsome red dapple Dachshund.
A human didn’t have my best interests in mind and fed me way too much, and now I am on a diet to lose 7 pounds. I am doing rubber-bone presses, and I can bench-press 2 cookies now. I’m running alongside my foster mom while she rides her bike. Keep checking back to see how I am getting more slim and svelte!
I’m a mellow, light-hearted kind of guy. I’m happy being in my crate, or I can be on the couch with my foster mom and Apple, the dachshund-mix who lives in my foster house. I like Apple a lot. We play and romp in the back yard and in the house. I like to talk to the neighbor dog through the fence. He’s huge! But he doesn’t scare me, and he’s not the brightest bulb in the pack – if you know what I mean.
I really enjoy walks. I look forward to them, stopping to smell the roses along the way. When new people and their dogs come up to me, I’m coy and play hard-to-get, but I still like to meet them.
So far, roll-over is my only skill, but my foster mom introduced me to clicker training, and I know that the click means treats (low-fat, of course) are coming if I do something foster mom wants me to do. Check back to see what new skills I learn!
